How to copy DVD with Pavtube DVD copy?

If you are frustrated to handle scratched DVD with bad sectors, it is wise of you to back up DVD before the disaster. Please confirm that you have the right to copy the commercial DVD in your region.

This tutorial offers the steps for you to make DVD backup with Pavtube DVD Copy. You can copy DVD disc, DVD folder to DVD disc, DVD folder and ISO image file. Pavtube DVD Copy support disc like DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW.

1. Launch Pavtube DVD Copy.

2. Select the source DVD file and the target path.
Click the drop down box of "Source" to choose from the DVD drive, or a DVD folder on your computer. Then the related information for the source DVD will display on the interface.
Note: If there is DVD in your DVD-ROM before running the program, the disc will be loaded automatically as source.

Click the drop down box of "Target", and choose to save as disc on DVD burner, DVD folder on the computer, or an ISO image file. Please make sure that the target disc space is larger than the source size.

 

 

 

Below are the ways you can backup DVD with Pavtube DVD Copy, based on the source and the target.

Copy DVD to ISO image
Step1: Insert a DVD-Video disc, and click the drop down box of "Source" to select DVD drive or browse the DVD folder on your computer.
Step2: Choose the option "Save as Image(.iso)…" on the drop down box of "Target", and then specify the location and name of the output ISO file.

 

 

Please note that there is size limit of the ISO file on FAT32 file system. You will face a pop-up message when you are trying to copy DVD to an ISO with size larger than 4GB. Choose the main movie mode, if you want to copy to ISO image on FAT32 file system.

Copy DVD disc to folder
Step1: Insert a DVD-Video disc as source, and click the drop down box of "Source" to select the DVD drive.
Step2: Click the drop down box of "Target", choose "Save as DVD Folder", and specify the location.

 

 

The output folder will be named according to the date of copying. Pavtube DVD Copy will rename the output DVD folder, if there is the same folder name.

Burn DVD from folder to disc
Step1: Click the drop down box of "Source" to choose the ISO file or the DVD folder as source.
Step2: Click the drop down box of "Target", choose your DVD burner. Please insert a blank DVD disc, VD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, or DVD+RW.

 

 

Copy DVD disc to DVD±R/W with DVD-ROM and DVD burner
Step1: Insert a DVD-Video disc in your DVD-ROM. Click the drop down box of "Source" and select the DVD drive.
Step2: Insert a blank DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW disc to your DVD burner. Click the drop down box of "Target" and select the DVD burner.

 

 

Copy DVD disc to DVD±R/W with one burner only
Step1: Insert a DVD-Video disc in your DVD-ROM, and choose DVD-ROM on the drop down box of "Source".
Step2: Choose the DVD-ROM on the drop down box of "Target".

 

 

Note: You need eject the source disc, and then insert the blank DVD disc when you face the pop-up window, informing you of inserting an empty disc.

3. Choose copy mode: Full Disc or Main Movie.
If you want to copy DVD to ISO on a FAT32 file system and the file is larger than 4GB, it is recommended that you choose "Main Movie".

 

 

Full Disc Copy the entire DVD with the original menus, subtitles, audio tracks, which are available with the original DVD. You will find "Movie Size" of the "Source" pane on main interface, if "Full Disc" is selected.
Main Movie Copy the longest title video with the related menu, subtitles and audio tracks in the DVD. You will find the related information about "Movie Size", Main movie length", as well as related size on the main interface.

4. Change advanced settings: working folder and label.
Pavtube DVD Copy includes the advanced settings with other information.

 

 

Set a folder to temporary store the data during the copy process. Pavtube DVD Copy automatically detects the hard disk with the largest available space. Then a folder named Temp_DVDCopy on the hard disk will be created.
Label is particular for burning to a DVD disc. It will show up with the DVD drive icon when you insert the copied DVD disc to your DVD-ROM.
The option "Skip bad sectors step length" is to offer a smooth playback of the copied DVD, even if there are bad sectors on the original DVD. It is recommended to use the default value. If you are an experienced user, you can change it to larger value to prevent from unstable playback of the output file.
The box for "Clear working folder when finished" is checked by default to release disk space after copying.

5. Start copying.
Click the start button to start copying, when the source and the target have been set to your need. There are two steps during the copy process, if you choose to copy to ISO image file, or burn to DVD: the source will be copied to the working folder first, and then to the target.
If the target is a DVD folder on the hard disc, there will be only the step to copy to the target.

 

 

 

After the first step of the copy process, you will face the following message when copying from a DVD disc to a DVD disc with one DVD burner. Eject the original disc, insert a blank DVD disc, and then click "OK" to continue the copy process.

Just wait for a while and you can enjoy the backup file with smooth playback on the player.

Note: When you get the DVD-RW, DVD+RW with undesired data, and want to erase it for future use, you can use Pavtube DVD Copy to erase the disc.
Click on the first button on the top right corner from the left to the right, and choose "Erase Disc".
